1st day of highschool

1st day of highschool

So today my first born baby had his freshman orientation at the new high school. It is a wonderful new building. The just finished building it, oh, last week or so. There will only be freshmen and sophomores attending this year, adding a grade each year.

When Karl was born his feet were the length of my thumb. Oiy! Now look at his big dogs! Size 11, or 45 Euro!

Sometimes the days drag on, but those years, they fly by!

Of course, there was no photo this morning inside the new highschool as he stood there with his buddies. I was embarrassing him enough with my very presence. So, I guess my work as a mom is complete! I embarrass my kid! haha.

Sigh.

This will be an exciting time for him! Kurt and I, wandering the hallways last night were reminiscing about our own fun highschool days.

boot camp day

So, yes, the big event is over! 103 people were over at our house, on Kurt's birthday... although, he made me promise to keep mum about that. He didn't want the fuss. So, I kept quiet. Bah humbug. Lots more photos at Flickr, just click. The first hour was boot camp with obstacles and exercises to do, followed by the huge picnic. One of our parents graciously offered to grill up the 120 hotdogs and 96 hamburgers! The grand finale was the hour-long, capture the flag water gun, super soaker wars!

We'll be celebrating Kurt's bday with prezzies and cake and pizza one of these days... sheesh. Perhaps tonight? Maybe tomorrow night? The weekend is completely filled to the brim with Dixieland Band gigs, 2 different pool parties.... Ah summer!

And speaking of summer, it's fast coming to a close. Today I think we'll do some supply shopping and see who needs school clothes. School begins Sept. 2, but next week is chock full of Volleyball team tryouts, new highschool student orientation night...

Hopefully I will be better at taking photos and updating here these coming weeks!

Lil Cee Update!

Since my Mother is EXTREMELY lazy and I have to bug her to update, I have decided to write for her. Well, over here, Last Weekend, My family all decided to go see a whole bunch of movies at the movie theater. On Saturday night, we went to go see the new Dark Knight Batman Movie! Then on Sunday night, We went to go see Hancock. It was better than expected.

Now, I am very excited because I thought since my older brother has his own pet dog Kelda, my younger brother has his own pet kitten Pepper Potts, and my parents own Tabitha together, I need a pet of my own. So, as I looked in at Petfinder.com, I browsed a lot of kitties and my mom found a Russian Blue female kitten named Gracey! My mom filled out the online application and I even forced her to call the shelter, no answer, and I have been waiting and waiting still no call! Sighs, and sits back looking at the phone...waiting...waiting...waiting...

Much gardening

To clarify....

We're tackling a huge project now that we decided to host our "Boot Camp Day" out here at our compound! haha. We have had many ideas on landscaping this summer, and began each one... 4 or 5 big projects. Well, now it's been decided that we must complete them all and put the outdoors back together by August 17th! Yikes!
Oh, and it was a really hot day yesterday, the long clothing is bug protection 'cause the mosquitos just love to hang out in our woods... sigh.
