NAGA competitors

Last weekend we took 7 of our students to the North American Grappling Association's tournament in Chicago!

The kids have only been training in grappling for 5 months, and really could have entered in the "novice" division which is for under 6 months of training, however, our guys all like the submissions... such as arm bars, locks and chokes. For this they had to enter the "beginner" division. Here they were competing with guys who've had 1 year or less of training.

Three of our students did win! One guy won thrid place in both the Gi and no-Gi fights, two other students took first place in their weight class! All our students, including Kai and Karl who competed, were great and took back with them lots of knowledge and a great time. We'll be back in October when NAGA returns to Chicago!

On their website, our students are listed along with our school WoodstockMMA! We're making the big time!

All the photos are at my Flickr site....

I think I'll take Kurt out for a celebratory bier tonight after kickboxing class.

Prost!

16 years and 3 kids later... I s'pose it's natural to be busy. So much for our beers in the hottub....

Hey! Almost forgot... I photo'd another one of our pictures from the album... me and my girls... There you are, cousin M!! Look at how young we all look!

Spent a lovely spring Sunday afternoon at Kurt's parent's house with the other 23 siblings, spouces, and nieces/nephews. It was the semi annual birthday celebration for 14 of us winter and spring guys. We'll celebrate the remaining 14 summer/fall bdays 'round the end of summer.

There is always plenty of eye candy to photograph at the house. His mom has such taste, and a good eye for placement of goodies. I've uploaded a bunch over at Flickr. If you click on this quiet photo, you'll see the rest of the quiet set from that day.

Last weekend we loaded up the bikes in the van and the kids and I went to gramma's house. We celebrated her birthday, an early mother's day with a bike ride to the park at my old school, as well as dinner in town.

The photos are in my May Folder here at Flickr... along with some other shots from early this month.

So, yes, I am still taking photos... just not much time to play with them. However, today is Thursday, my day off and I have more sewing projects planned, curtain rods to hang, boxes to burn, laundry to wash, a guinea pig cage to clean, and plants that are oh-so thirsty.... So, on to my house projects that I've been looking forward to!

Have a good Stammtisch this evening, meine deutschen Freunde!

Even standing together the hearts are between us... I spy 2 of them with the shadows and light!

Oh my goodness this one is so good! A nice thick wheat taste, but not at all heavy, very familiar to what we drank in Germany. I haven't found an American wheat that can compare to the German.

Yikes, at $3.69 for 1 bottle.... sigh, my expensive taste in Bier....
