My Next Life

I'm so going to be a cat. Not a dog.

A cat's idea of a good time is to hunt down those pesky mice who love to make their nests in my van's heater fan and cause me aggrivation when I have to organize a car swap and pay $37.00 to clean it out so my heater won't make that horrid sound when I turn it on. Not once, but twice!

A cat's idea of fun is to roll around in catnip then fall into a silly heap in the sunshine and sleep it off. Not roll around in deer shit or coyote poop....

Spring is here

The froggies are out once again and singing loudly from all their bogs and lakes that surround our home! It's such a distinctive, and a bit eerie sound. Since you can't see any of the lakes from the front yard, it sounds as if the frogs are singing in the trees all around you!

And this cool ensemble will continue for a couple weeks now.... absolutely fantastic. This tells me, spring is here! Hoooray! Hooray for warmer weather, for jelly beans, and birthdays! Although, I told little K-W (because we share a birthday) "You go ahead and have your birthday, I'm content just to stay 39 thanks!" Of course, would I still then get my prezzies? I see those Sims 2 "Open For Business" and "Seasons" up on the shelf...... ahhhhhh! Can't.Wait!

And speaking of prezzies.... I ordered little K-W's. He sees the new commercial for Geox shoes on TV and decides he would like those. A quick search turns up

It would appear they are German shoes! Well, duh, a no brainer. Of course I'll have to get them for the boy! hahahahah Besides, they look so European! ;)

Anyways, it's spring break week in CowTown. Oh joy! /sarcasm.

The big kid is off working with dad. This morning he's already been practicing his loader driving. Kurt parked him on the bucket loader, pointed towards the gravel pile and told him to practice scooping that from the bottom of the pile to the top. Heh. Now to figure out how we can keep the boy visible amoungst all the big machinery and trucks 'round the yard. The boy will have to keep a sharp eye out! But he's happy to be working, he has a new video/sound card arriving for his computer! Nothing like the promise of good gaming to motivate a kid to roll out of bed and get to work before the sun comes up!

I have a book to read so I can understand my new camera, and a red, wool scarf to finish so I will not be around here for awhile...

a long time in coming

This is what 67F/19C looks like at our house! Still 6 inches of snow in places over most of the yard... sigh. Ah well, it's a start. And, ohhhh, how good spring smells breezing through the house for the first time this year!!! Wonderful!

Too bad it's just a teaser.... we're expecting... wait......... snow again by the end of the week..... *gah*

And oh what a mushy, muddy mess it is 'round here! heh

We're in the news!!! **UPDATE!!!**

Our board break-a-thon and tournament was a huge success!!! 2 different newspapers sent reporters and photographers and even the video gal! We're on the net!

Of course, when I saw little Cee and Kurt giving interviews I quickly moved out of their range.... I don't like the camera, but prefer behind the lens. And sure enough, I'm there in the background of Kurt's interview taking photos, oh, with my new Canon EOS Rebel XTi! Wheeee!

Ohh, and we raised $2273.00 for JDRF! How cool is that! Way exceeded our $1000.00 goal!

What a great day! No injuries, the kids all had fun, we had tons of exposure through the media!!

Did you ever wonder

What those letters stood for in those different bra sizes?
A= almost (hooray, for A's!)
B= barely
C= cute
D= damn fine
E= excellent
F= fake!

And then there's those wonderful Wonder Bras filled with water or gel for those of us "almosts." They've also come out with a bra for the damn fine and above women; it's called the Sheepdog bra.

You know, it rounds 'em up and points them in the right direction!

Driving home

ENOUGH already

Kurt calls this morning 20 mins to 7am. Get the kids on the bus, you won't be able to drive anywhere, the roads are shit. He slid through 2 intersections, there were numerous accidents along his route, OH, and ooops, I forgot to tell him last night that I got my car stuck in the driveway in such a way that he wouldn't be able to back his car out without first unsticking me.... sigh....

So, we hustle down to meet the bus..... wait for 20 mins in the blowing, cutting, icy weather for a bus that never shows up. 2 ambulances did however pass us by....

F*ck! Well, that's enough fun for me this morning, before I've even had my first cup of coffee no less. I'm calling it a winter day, no school for the von S's.

"HOOORAY!" from the kids all around....

Crap, and I have things to do for work.... banking, and shopping for the teenage party tomorrow.... Damn. Enough of this craptacular winter already......
