2007 is shaping up to be ....

Three of our instructors gave their resignation last night. It was a bit overwhelming on the emotions.... ranging from saddness that they didn't want to be part of our school and the direction we're taking, to anger that I was given 3 days to scramble... and when I had just handed out the schedule for the new year. We know they had known about this for some time. Especially since one of the instructor's was out of town for the holidays but had signed his name to the letter. Anger, because now I feel our trip to Germany is in jeopardy.... We are left with the three of us instructors and about 6 months to train some more of our black belt crowd in the teaching role... or just close the school for a week....

Of course, as the day wore on today, and many phone calls back and forth with Kurt ensued.... those feelings are being put aside. What's done, is done. Time to concentrate on the task at hand... the NEW, EXCITING program for our karate school! And, hey, more money for us! What a concept, pay yourself first! Hooray for more money!

So, I'll pick up 3 or 4 classes along with my 2 dragon classes... Kurt picks up 2 or 3 more in addition to his 3 classes, and the other instructor can pick another 1 or 2 in addition to his 4! Whew! We're going to be busy bees. This will definitely take some getting used to on my part. As Kurt says, "we'll have a system for everything. Work, home, kids... everyone will have a system and play a part!"
