Despite the fact that just 2 days ago it was in the 60's.... winter is still around the corner. It's being blown in quickly by the 48 MPH winds that are gusting 'round cowtown today! The kids think it's a riot outside..... Although, they're still waiting to be whisked away to Iowa. Just awhile ago, the wind knocked over a tree in our yard and snapped a pretty good size branch in half....
Today also seems to be a day of sick animals. The dog is a bit under the weather.... although, she enjoyed our morning run down to the lake-with-the-smoke-on-it. Now she just hangs out on the couch... not a bit interested in going outside to frolic in the wind with the kids.
One of our guinea pigs is dying. I noticed she's not eating.... hasn't been since at least Sat. Earlier than that she was only marginally eating and just hanging out in the corner of their pen... sigh. So, Sat. night I moved her out of the communal pig pen, and into her own little basket. It just didn't seem dignified to allow the other pigs to jostle her about in all their excitement throughout the days..... So, there she still sits... water undrunk, favorite lettuce leaves uneaten... sigh.... making me all flustered. I hope she's not suffering......
On other notes, why is it kids always have to 'play' rough... someone always gets bruised up.... off to find an ice pak.....
